As an Approved provider by MOUNTAIN TRAINING UK, We are pleased to announce our Lowland Leader Award Training & Assessment Course, Camping Leader and Hill & Moorland Leader Award dates.
The Lowland Leader Award has established itself as the award for those taking groups out in lowland areas of the UK and benefits from Mountain Training's tried and tested training and assessment structure to give leaders a great foundation in what they do. Outlook Adventures runs both training and assessment courses for the Lowland Leader Award.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Courses are ideal for anyone who wishes to lead groups of people in lowland areas of the UK. The course is of particular relevance to those who lead:
• Local walking clubs or groups.
• Volunteers for societies or organisations leading walks.
• Teachers involved with DofE expedition groups.
• Schools looking to train volunteers to help oversee expedition activities in lowland areas.
• Gold DofE participants who have completed their DofE award and would like to progress to leading groups.
• As a first step into the outdoor industry.
THE SYLLABUS
Lowland Leaders should be competent in the following key areas, all of which will be covered during your two day training course.

8. Teaching and Learning Skills

TRAINING:
Lowland Leader Award Training is a two day course where you will cover the full award syllabus and have plenty of opportunities to put skills into practice and ask questions of your instructor and course mates. We take your experience into account and encourage the sharing of ideas and skills to give you a toolbox to work with in a range of different situations.
ASSESSMENT:
Lowland Leader Award Assessment is a further two day course following a consolidation period. You will find our assessors friendly and approachable - we aim to make the assessment process as relaxed as possible while seeing what we need to.
